Company Reviews

EMUM Capital Sdn Bhd is one of Malaysia’s longest established trading companies in building materials. We have provided resources for all levels of construction projects, from huge commercial landmarks to regular residential homes. To add on to that, we have set our eyes on being a leader in alternative resources as well. As a main player in the industry, we are keen to develop eco-friendly and value-added products for the whole building sector. Beyond that, we also pursue and create new markets for new business ventures. All this is driven by our ultimate goal of providing sustainable construction solutions – sourced, built and delivered with an environmental conscience. Most of our customers are located in Peninsular Malaysia, with enduring relationships built and expanded over the years. We have supplied to hardware stores, contractors and developers, growing along the way from selling basic cement to more complex building materials. The progress of our product range reflects in our revenues, which is the surest proof of the sustainability we strive to achieve. From iconic landmarks to happy homes – from the cement that supports your footsteps to the roofs that shelter overhead – we look forward to continuing our journey alongside all Malaysians.

Decent Flex for Financial Roles, Room to Grow
Pros: As an Investment Analyst, I appreciate the hybrid work model they've got going. It's pretty decent for those of us based in the Kuala Lumpur office, allowing for a better personal schedule. This kind of work arrangement is a big plus in the demanding financial services industry.
Cons: It's not truly flexible for everyone; not all departments get the same remote options, with some still strictly onsite. There's often an unspoken expectation to come into the office for specific client meetings or big team huddles, even on a scheduled WFH day. The core hours can be a bit rigid, so don't expect to completely shift your workday.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid work model and remote policies more clearly across all teams. It would help to set more explicit expectations for when onsite presence is truly mandatory for roles like an Investment Analyst.

Work-life balance is a real grind here
Pros: You'll learn a ton, especially as an Investment Analyst. The projects are complex and really interesting for the financial services industry. You get solid exposure to big deals.
Cons: Honestly, work-life balance is tough in the Kuala Lumpur office. Expect to put in serious hours, like 60-70 hour weeks when deals are hot. It makes it super hard to have a life outside work.
Advice to Management: You guys need to seriously look at staffing and project timelines. It's not sustainable to expect Investment Analysts to constantly work such long hours without burning out.
