Pros: The hybrid work setup in our Burnaby, BC office is a real plus. It lets me manage personal appointments easier. Most weeks, as a Senior R&D Engineer, I can stick to a fairly regular 40-hour schedule, which is decent.
Cons: Project deadlines in the medical device industry are no joke; it means long hours and sometimes weekend work for R&D roles. There's an expectation to be available, even off-hours, when a critical issue pops up, which really messes with work-life balance.

Advice to Management: Focus on clearer, consistent strategic communication from the top. Empower mid-level leadership more to cut down on slow decision-making, especially for critical medical device projects. This would really help with employee morale and retention.
