Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to support a growing accounting practice servicing multiple small business clients. This role focuses on day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and maintaining accurate financial records within cloud-based accounting systems.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced in QuickBooks Online, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with an in-house CPA.


Job Highlights

Schedule: Mon-Fri 9am-1pm preferred Edmonton but flexible 6am - 6pm

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor


Responsibilities

  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and client accounts in QuickBooks Online
  • Process and organize invoice data from Dext and update corresponding records in QuickBooks Online
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable entries across multiple client accounts
  • Maintain accurate and audit-ready bookkeeping records
  • Support the CPA with backend bookkeeping and administrative accounting tasks
  • Assist with payroll processing and general ledger maintenance as needed
  • Maintain organized workflows and documentation within TaxDome or similar systems
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely updating of financial records


Requirements

  • Proven bookkeeping experience with strong QuickBooks Online proficiency
  • Familiarity with Dext, TaxDome, or similar accounting/practice management tools preferred
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger processes
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with financial data
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professional and trustworthy when handling confidential financial information
  • Excellent communication skills and reliability in a remote work environment
