When you look at your business data through a geographic lens you gain a more profound understanding of the strengths, weaknesses and challenges contributing to your company’s current circumstances.
Beyond the benefits of displaying your business data in an easy-to-decipher visual format, GIS technology facilitates the integration of disparate datasets – unleashing insights that would otherwise remain concealed in disconnected tables and spreadsheets.
Using the single element of ‘location’, this remarkable technology has the power to connect an extensive range of file formats – ranging from CSV and Excel files to full motion video and everything in between.

Pros: The hybrid model is a big plus for work flexibility, helping with commutes to the Kuala Lumpur office. For many standard geospatial projects, you can usually stick to 40-hour weeks. There's some decent WFH flexibility when things aren't too crazy.
Cons: When client deadlines hit, especially for large enterprise mapping software implementations, the hours can get really long. It's tough because there isn't much recognition or extra pay for that overtime. Management doesn't always step in to shield the team from client demands.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to improve resource planning and client expectation management. Protecting the GIS Consultant teams from unreasonable overtime demands would go a long way in boosting morale and retaining talent.

Pros: There's pretty steady work, especially for core GIS Analyst roles. The company is pretty solid in the geospatial industry, so client projects keep coming. It feels secure overall here in the Kuala Lumpur office.
Cons: Career growth isn't super clear, which can make you wonder about long-term security. They don't always communicate big changes well. The pay isn't always competitive compared to other tech jobs.
Advice to Management: Work on making career paths clearer for employees. Also, communicate decisions better, especially when they impact teams.
