Sales Engineer

Okay place for a sales career, slow growth.
Pros: You get good training on actuators and valves, which is great for understanding the product side. There's decent stability working as a Sales Engineer. The company offers a competitive salary and benefit package in the building automation space.
Cons: Career progression is pretty limited here, especially for technical sales roles. It felt like I hit a ceiling after a couple years. Internal promotions are rare, and there isn't a clear path to advance without leaving the Danbury, CT office.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer career paths and opportunities for internal advancement, especially for experienced sales engineers. Invest more in leadership development too.

Leadership is okay, but needs work
Pros: The company's pretty stable, which is nice for job security. My direct team was solid. The products in the HVAC industry are well-regarded. It's a steady, onsite corporate environment.
Cons: Leadership is often really slow with decisions. This is tough as a Product Manager. There's not a lot of clear vision from the top. It sometimes feels like we're just reacting.
Advice to Management: Try to be more decisive and communicate a clearer strategic vision. Empower your teams to innovate without getting bogged down in too many approval layers.
