Pros: The team environment is pretty solid, people really help each other out when projects get intense. As a Consultant, I've had some chances for hybrid work, which helps a little. You learn a ton, that's for sure.
Cons: Work-life balance is often a struggle, particularly during critical project phases. Expect regular long hours; 50-60 hour workweeks aren't uncommon in this management consulting role. It's tough to consistently plan things outside of work.
Advice to Management: Try to implement stricter controls on project scope and client expectations to reduce the constant crunch. Encourage managers to promote actual 40-hour workweeks more consistently, especially for junior staff. Burnout is a serious concern.
