Decent flexibility for remote software engineers
Pros: I liked being able to work from home most days. As a Software Engineer, the remote work setup really helped my productivity and cut out my commute. For individual contributor roles in the tech industry, the work flexibility here is pretty good.
Cons: Sometimes team meetings are scheduled really early or late to accommodate different time zones, which kinda messes with the WFH vibe. True async work isn't always possible, so you still have to be online a lot for collaborative tasks.
Advice to Management: Try to push for more truly asynchronous work culture, especially for remote teams. It would really improve overall work-life balance and make the WFH experience even better.

Solid Remote Setup, Watch the Workload
Pros: The biggest perk is the work flexibility. As a Software Engineer, I could work remote from home most days, which helped a lot with personal commitments. It's a mid-sized tech company, so they've got good WFH policies in place.
Cons: Even with remote work, the pressure during sprint cycles can get pretty intense. It's tough to fully disconnect sometimes. Not every manager handles the work flexibility the same way, so it really depends on your team.
Advice to Management: Standardize expectations for remote teams across all departments. Ensure managers support work-life balance proactively, especially during demanding periods, so engineers truly benefit from the work flexibility.

Hybrid model is decent, could be better.
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the hybrid model is pretty solid. You get some WFH days, which is nice for deep work. The San Francisco office is well-equipped for the days you're in.
Cons: The required office days feel a bit rigid sometimes. It's not truly flexible if you can't swap days easily. The policy doesn't always consider personal appointments.
Advice to Management: Rethink the strict hybrid schedule for big tech. Give engineers more autonomy over in-office days; it would really boost morale and productivity.

Decent Flexibility, Could Be Better for All
Pros: I do appreciate the hybrid model for Software Engineer roles. It's nice to have two days remote from my home in San Francisco. This kind of work arrangement is pretty standard in the tech industry now.
Cons: The flexibility really depends on your team and manager. Some departments, like customer support, have much stricter onsite requirements. It feels a bit inconsistent across the company, which can be tough.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize work flexibility across more roles and departments. It would really help with overall employee morale.
