THE ROLE

The business is looking for a machine operator who will prepare, set and run the bagging and thermoformer machines. Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing the machines prior to production

- Complete daily start-up check sheets prior to commencement of production

- Using the correct and appropriate poly bags as specified on job cards

- Entering correct overprint as specified on job cards

- Carry out quality control checks and liaising with the quality control department

- Maintain functionality and effectiveness of the machines throughout production

- Breakdown of any reject bags and recycling of waste products

- Understand and monitor metal-detection

- Understand pack weight legislation

- Ensure clean as you go policy is in action

- When not busy support other departments in every day running of the plant

Westray Recruitment Group is delighted to bring to you a client who are looking for Packaging Finishers to work on an ongoing basis for our client based in Team Valley.

You will be working for the largest manufacturers of product in their field for some of the biggest brand names in the world. The products produced by the business emphasize renewability and recyclability which demonstrates their passion which is protecting the environment and giving back to the communities they work in.

The business is values-led and are looking for people who mirror those values of respect, integrity and teamwork.

There are permanent roles available for the right candidates and a possible pay increase once permanent.



THE ROLE

The role itself is fast paced requiring good levels of accuracy. We also need Candidates who are flexible to pick up additional shifts where possible to meet business demands.

- Operating machinery

- Feeding the line with product

- Putting product together by hand

- Moving product onto trays from line

- Getting product ready to be palletised and despatched

Please be aware - No smoking is allowed on site and employees are not allowed off site during their breaks due to hygiene regulations.

THE PERSON

- Previous warehouse or food production experience preferred but not essential

- The ability to work with accuracy and at a fast pace

- Flexible to work various shift times

- Physically able to carry out various warehousing and production duties

- Keen to develop skillsets

- Excellent team player who can work efficiently in a wide variety of situations

- Strong communication skills and ability to provide timely and constructive feedback
