Decent place for wine sales, but long hours.
Pros: The team culture here is really solid, everyone helps out. You get to learn a lot about the beverage industry. There's some flexibility sometimes if you need to swap shifts, which is good for an onsite role.
Cons: Work-life balance here isn't great, especially for junior Sales Associate roles. You're often working 50+ hour weeks, including weekends, which can be draining. It's hard to make plans outside of work.
Advice to Management: Try to implement more structured schedules and maybe hire more staff for wine sales, especially during peak seasons, to prevent burnout. Consider an actual overtime policy for weekend work.

Growth is tough for marketing in this mid-sized company
Pros: My team in the marketing department was great. We genuinely got along and collaborated well. You pick up a lot about the wine distribution process quickly, which is a good learning curve. There's decent WFH flexibility for hybrid workers, which helped with work-life balance.
Cons: Career progression for Associate Brand Manager roles felt really slow. It was hard to see the next step. There aren't many clear opportunities to move up or tackle new projects in the Napa Valley, CA office. Sometimes it felt like a mid-sized company without much room for significant career growth in the long run.
Advice to Management: Invest more in professional development and clear career paths, especially for marketing roles. Create more cross-functional project opportunities to help employees grow.

Okay culture, good for wine enthusiasts
Pros: The team members are generally supportive and you get deep insights into the e-commerce wine industry, which is cool if you're a sommelier or just love wine. There's good WFH flexibility for us remote staff, which helps with work-life balance.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit cliquey at times, particularly if you're not in the main office. There's not enough transparency from senior leadership, which often leaves marketing coordinator roles feeling out of the loop on big decisions. It makes collaboration tougher.
Advice to Management: Try to foster a more inclusive company culture for remote employees and work on improving transparency from leadership. Regular updates and clearer communication on strategic decisions would go a long way for roles like mine.
