Decent tech, but job security fluctuates
Pros: Working here as a Software Engineer was okay. They're a long-standing FinTech firm so the core business is pretty solid. The benefits package in the Chicago office was competitive, especially for healthcare.
Cons: There's a lot of management turnover, which really hurts job security. It felt like every year there was a reorg or team restructure, and layoffs weren't uncommon. This made planning your career path tough.
Advice to Management: Focus on providing more stability and transparent communication about the company's long-term direction. Frequent reorgs really impact morale and make employees worry about their job security in the financial software industry.

Leadership is a Mixed Bag Here
Pros: Some team leads and senior engineers are really solid. They know the tech and are good mentors for Software Engineer roles. We use a strong tech stack for fintech development.
Cons: Upper management decisions often feel out of touch. Communication from leadership is pretty bad, especially for big strategic shifts. It makes planning future algorithmic trading features frustrating.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer communication from the top. Get feedback from engineers on the ground for strategic planning, especially when making big changes to our trading platform products.
