Welcome to Sentosa Development Corporation – where discovery never ends!
As we manage and develop Sentosa Island, we are dedicated to transforming Sentosa into more than just a leisure destination. We strive to create a destination where every visitor can experience a sense of newness and wonder through exploration and discovery.
Our vision is simple yet ambitious: to be the world's best loved leisure and lifestyle resort destination. How do we make this a reality? By delivering on our 3 key strategic focus – One Sentosa Experience, Smart Sentosa and Sustainable Sentosa.
We deliver on our One-Sentosa Experience through outstanding service and world-class offerings working as one team including our Island Partners. Through Smart Sentosa, we leverage technology to engage our guests better to provide a more frictionless and personalised experience. Sustainable Sentosa also a key priority and integral design principle in SDC's journey to becoming a globally recognised sustainable tourism destination by 2025 and a carbon-neutral urban tourism precinct by 2030.
Sentosa continually strives to enhance its level of service to offer our guests a memorable experience. The Sentosa STAR (Service, Teamwork, Acting with Integrity and Results-Oriented) values reflect our commitment in providing service from the heart. We recognise that for a resort island like Sentosa to be successful, every component in the service chain is crucial – be it the need to invigorate our people to provide the best service, to constantly innovate our products in the face of increasing competition both locally and regionally, or the need to continually improve our processes both internally and for guests.
Here in Sentosa, we aspire to become a People who are Purposeful in driving Possibilities for the island!

Pros: Working in the Sentosa Island office is pretty cool, the environment is unique. For a statutory board in the tourism industry, they do try to offer some hybrid work options sometimes, which is nice when possible. You get to work on interesting projects that impact Singapore's leisure scene.
Cons: Work-life balance here can be tough, especially as an Events Coordinator. Event days are long, and you're often working weekends or late nights. It's hard to switch off completely, and sometimes the pressure to hit visitor targets feels never-ending.
Advice to Management: Try to implement clearer boundaries for Events Coordinators on event days. More support for peak periods, maybe with temp staff, could really help prevent burnout and improve overall morale.

Pros: You get a stable job, which is a plus for a statutory board. Benefits are solid. Working on island management and tourism development projects in the Singapore office is interesting.
Cons: Career growth is really slow here. Opportunities for Project Coordinator roles to move up are limited. You'll wait ages for a promotion or proper training programs.
Advice to Management: Invest more in training and creating clearer promotion paths for staff, especially for operational and project-based roles. It would boost morale a lot.

Pros: As a Marketing Executive here, the job security is definitely a highlight. It's a stable government-linked company in the Singapore tourism industry. You don't worry about layoffs much.
Cons: While secure, growth can feel slow in this corporate environment. Promotions aren't quick, and it can sometimes feel a bit bureaucratic for tourism roles. It's not the place for rapid career jumps.
Advice to Management: Try to create clearer paths for career advancement. More internal mobility could boost morale and retain talent.
