Pros: The hybrid model is pretty decent; I usually go into the San Francisco office 2-3 times a week. It helps break up the week, and collaboration for Software Engineers is easier face-to-face. You can manage your own time mostly.
Cons: Work-life balance as a Software Engineer can be a real struggle, especially during big releases in the video conferencing industry. There's a lot of pressure to hit deadlines, and sometimes that means logging extra hours. It's tough to truly disconnect.
Advice to Management: Management needs to set more realistic project timelines. We're often stretched thin trying to meet aggressive deadlines for our video conferencing product. Burnout is a real concern for the engineering team.
