Leadership at Aurora Talent Needs Some Real Work
Pros: The team I worked with was solid. We often helped each other out, which made daily tasks in recruitment easier. Plus, the hybrid setup for Talent Acquisition roles offered some decent work flexibility for those in the Dallas office.
Cons: Upper management often felt really disconnected from what we were doing on the ground. It's tough when strategies for talent acquisition change weekly, and there's no clear communication from leadership. This just creates a lot of uncertainty and affects team morale.
Advice to Management: Please try to listen to your team leads more. Better communication and a more consistent vision from leadership would really help everyone, especially for us in talent acquisition. Stop changing directions so often.

Chill culture, but needs some stronger bonds
Pros: People are generally nice and easy to work with. It's a casual environment, good for a remote role. I had flexibility for personal appointments, which is a huge plus for work-life balance.
Cons: Sometimes the culture feels a bit disconnected since everyone's remote. Team bonding events aren't super frequent. For a talent acquisition firm, I thought there'd be more emphasis on internal mentorship.
Advice to Management: Focus on building more cohesive team experiences for remote employees. Maybe quarterly virtual events or mentorship programs for recruiting roles. Clearer communication on company goals would help everyone feel more connected.

Pay is okay, but benefits could be better
Pros: My base salary as a Talent Acquisition Specialist was solid, especially for the Austin market. The company does offer a commission structure, which can bump up your total compensation if you hit your targets. It's a decent salary foundation for recruiting roles if you're good at closing deals.
Cons: The benefits package isn't very competitive; health insurance premiums are pretty high. There aren't many extra perks like a strong 401k match or wellness stipends, which you see at other HR tech companies. For a hybrid model, it's just okay, nothing stands out.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving the benefits package, especially health insurance costs and 401k matching. It would help attract and retain top talent in the competitive recruitment industry.
