Growth is okay, but you need to push for it
Pros: You learn a lot if you're proactive. Working on new gaming chairs is cool and keeps you engaged. There's a chance to take on bigger projects, especially if you show initiative. You're constantly challenged, which is good for skill development as a Product Designer.
Cons: Career growth isn't always structured. It feels like there's no clear path for promotions unless you demand it. Mentorship programs are limited, which makes it tough for junior designers. Sometimes you just spin your wheels if you don't aggressively seek out new responsibilities.
Advice to Management: Create clearer career progression paths for individual contributors, especially in design. Implement a more formal mentorship program to help employees grow. This would really help retention.

Okay for some, but culture needs work
Pros: The team in the Singapore office is generally passionate about ergonomic furniture and gaming chairs. We often get to see new products early, which is a neat perk. There's a decent hybrid model in place, offering some flexibility.
Cons: The company culture feels pretty top-down sometimes, making it tough to get new ideas heard if you're not senior leadership. It's often high-pressure, especially around product launches, which impacts work-life balance for Product Designer roles. There isn't much focus on employee feedback.
Advice to Management: Focus on fostering a more open and collaborative company culture. Actively solicit and implement feedback from mid-level employees, not just senior staff. This will help with retention and overall morale.

Work-Life Balance is a Real Struggle Here
Pros: The teams are solid, and the energy in the Singapore office is generally good. As a Product Designer, I've learned a lot about the e-commerce side of the gaming chair industry. The workspace is modern and pretty cool.
Cons: But honestly, the work-life balance here is tough. Expect to put in a lot of extra hours, especially when new products are launching. It's really hard to stick to just 40-hour weeks.
Advice to Management: Managers need to better manage project timelines and expectations. Help teams actually switch off after hours.
