Okay Start, But Growth Is Slow
Pros: Being an Editorial Assistant here gave me a decent intro to the publishing industry. You learn a lot about academic journals and content. The team I worked with was pretty solid and supportive, which made daily tasks manageable.
Cons: Career growth is really tough for entry-level roles at Taylor & Francis. There aren't many clear paths up within the company, especially if you're remote. It feels like you're stuck unless a senior person leaves, which isn't great for long-term prospects.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer career progression paths for early-career employees. Invest in training and development programs that actually lead to promotions, not just lateral moves. Pay more attention to remote employees for internal opportunities.

Okay Place, Very Traditional Culture in Publishing
Pros: As an Editorial Assistant, I found the team in the London office really supportive. It's a stable corporate environment, which is good for those new to academic publishing. What's nice is you generally get a pretty standard 40 hour work week.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit stuck in the past though. It's a very traditional publisher, so don't expect fast changes or dynamic energy. There's often resistance to new ideas, making things move super slowly here.
Advice to Management: Leadership needs to embrace more modern approaches and encourage innovation across the company. The publishing industry is changing, and T&F needs to keep up.
