Pros: You get solid experience in petrochemicals, especially as a Process Engineer in the Lake Charles, LA plant. It's a big corporate environment, so there are good learning opportunities early on with the processes.
Cons: Career growth for engineering roles feels pretty limited after a few years. There aren't many clear paths up the ladder. You often have to wait a long time for promotions, which isn't great for long-term career planning.
Advice to Management: Create more defined career progression paths for engineers. It's tough to stay motivated without clear advancement opportunities in such a large industrial company.

Pros: As a Process Engineer, I've had some good team experiences onsite at the Secunda plant. There's a solid sense of camaraderie within smaller working groups in the chemical industry.
Cons: The overall corporate culture can feel pretty bureaucratic, which slows things down a lot. It's tough to get new ideas approved, and project delivery often faces internal roadblocks.
Advice to Management: Work on making the corporate culture more agile and open to new initiatives. Empower teams more to make decisions and speed up project delivery without so much red tape.
