Remote work is good, but hours can be tough
Pros: Working remote as a Language Instructor is a big plus. It's great to teach from home in the language learning industry. You get decent flexibility with your schedule if you plan ahead.
Cons: It's hard to keep a consistent work-life balance sometimes. Client demands mean last-minute changes are common in this education tech space. You can easily work more than 40 hours if you're not careful.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage client expectations regarding scheduling. It would help Language Instructors maintain more predictable hours. Consider more support for managing client bookings.

Pay is decent, benefits are a bit weak
Pros: The hourly pay for teaching classes is actually pretty competitive for the language education industry in New York City. You can often pick up extra hours if you want them. It's a solid gig if you're looking for flexible work as a Language Instructor.
Cons: The benefits package isn't great. Health insurance is bare bones and there's no real retirement plan offered. Compensation for curriculum development time is also lower than expected, which makes it tough to make a long-term career here.
Advice to Management: Seriously look into improving the benefits package for full-time Language Instructors. Better health insurance and a basic 401k would go a long way. Also, reconsider compensation for out-of-class prep work.

Okay for language instructors, but be ready to work.
Pros: I've met some really great people here. It's a decent place for language education if you're just starting out. There's usually solid support from your colleagues in the New York City office.
Cons: The work-life balance isn't great. You often end up teaching more hours than planned, especially as an ESL Instructor during busy periods. Pay for language teaching roles is pretty low, honestly.
Advice to Management: Seriously look into fair compensation for language teaching roles and manage the workload better. Staffing up would help with work-life balance during busy seasons.
