Growth is Slow Here for Technical Roles
Pros: The hybrid model is really solid, letting me work from home a few days a week. The pay for a Software Engineer is actually pretty competitive in the San Francisco market. People are nice, good company culture.
Cons: Career growth is tough, especially for technical roles. There isn't a clear path to move up, even after a few years in the tech industry. It feels like you're stuck in your current position with no real promotions.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer career paths and offer more development opportunities for engineers. It's hard to stay motivated when there's no visible next step.

Pay is okay, benefits are decent
Pros: The health benefits here are pretty solid for a mid-sized tech company. My medical, dental, and vision coverage was actually quite good. They do offer a 401k match, which is a nice perk for a Software Engineer.
Cons: Honestly, the base salary for my role felt a bit low compared to the Austin, TX market. It's hard to feel competitive when you know others in the tech industry are making more. Raises weren't very substantial either, which was tough.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to re-evaluate their compensation strategy for roles like Software Engineer. Bringing salaries up to market rate would make a huge difference in employee retention and morale.

Okay Culture, Needs Some Fine-Tuning
Pros: I liked my team; everyone was supportive. There's good remote flexibility, which is a huge plus for my work-life balance. It felt like a pretty collaborative environment with immediate colleagues as a Software Engineer.
Cons: Communication often feels broken, especially for engineering roles. It's hard to get clear direction from leadership. The company culture feels a bit disjointed, particularly for those of us working remotely.
Advice to Management: Work on improving cross-team communication and provide clearer direction from management. More effort into building a cohesive culture for all employees, especially those remote, would help a lot. Maybe some virtual team events.
