Decent Work-Life Balance for Engineers
Pros: The hybrid model really helps; it's nice to have some WFH flexibility as a Software Engineer. You can usually manage your 40 hour weeks, which is good. Vacation policy is pretty standard.
Cons: Sometimes, projects just pile up and you're working extra hours, especially close to release dates. It's tough in the Austin, TX office sometimes when things get hectic. Leadership could do more to protect our personal time.
Advice to Management: Try to set more realistic project timelines. It would really help prevent burnout among the engineering teams. Don't always expect us to be online after hours.

Leadership has room to grow
Pros: The hybrid work model is a huge plus; it helped with my work-life balance a lot. As a Software Engineer, I worked on some cool data solutions. My immediate team members were great, super collaborative.
Cons: Upper leadership can be pretty disconnected. They often change project priorities without much warning, which made our work as Software Engineers frustrating. There isn't a lot of clear career pathing for growth in the tech industry here.
Advice to Management: Try to be more consistent with project goals. Communicate changes earlier to the teams. Invest in leadership training for middle management too, not just the top.
