Pros: As a Consultant, the base salary was pretty solid, especially for the Chicago market. They offer annual bonuses that are tied to project performance, which is nice. For professional services roles, the compensation is generally competitive.
Cons: The health benefits aren't great; the deductibles are really high. PTO is pretty standard, but it doesn't really improve much with tenure. I also didn't feel like there was much opportunity for substantial raises beyond the standard annual review bump.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing the health insurance plans to offer more competitive options with lower deductibles. Also, create clearer pathways for significant salary increases for long-term employees.

Pros: Direct team leads are usually pretty solid and supportive, especially for those of us in the Boston office. They're good about giving you autonomy on client projects. I've had some really good mentors here.
Cons: The big issue is senior leadership. There's often a lack of clear strategy or communication that trickles down. Decisions can feel a bit top-down and sometimes out of touch with what's happening on the ground for consulting roles. This can make projects tougher than they need to be.
Advice to Management: Senior leadership needs to work on transparency and communication with the wider team. More town halls or regular updates on company direction would really help, especially for those of us delivering IT consulting services directly to clients. Listen more to your project managers and consultants.
