Decent work-life balance for a growing fintech
Pros: The hybrid model is a big plus. We get a few WFH days, which helps with the Manila commute. For a fintech startup, the team tries to respect personal time.
Cons: Sometimes, deadlines for the lending platform can be pretty tight, leading to longer hours. It's not always a consistent 40-hour week, especially when projects are piling up. Expect to occasionally log off late.
Advice to Management: Try to smooth out project timelines more. It would help prevent those last-minute rushes for us data professionals.

Pay's okay, but benefits need work here
Pros: As a Software Engineer at this fintech startup in Manila, the base salary was decent for the industry. You get standard HMO coverage, which is a big plus. It's okay for basic needs.
Cons: Annual raises are almost nonexistent, which is tough. The retirement plan isn't great, and there aren't many extra perks or bonuses for engineering roles. Pay for a lending tech company could be more competitive.
Advice to Management: Review the compensation structure, especially for long-term employees. Offering more competitive raises and better retirement options would help retain talent in this tough digital payments space. Look into performance bonuses.

Good learning, but job security is a concern.
Pros: I've learned a lot as a **Software Engineer** at Billease. The work is challenging and the tech stack is pretty modern for a **fintech company**. We have a decent office environment in the **Manila office** too.
Cons: The biggest issue is job security; it just doesn't feel solid. There's often talk of restructuring, and it makes you nervous, especially as an employee in this industry. Leadership changes seem to happen pretty often without much clear communication.
Advice to Management: Be more transparent about company direction and any upcoming reorganizations. Clearer communication about job roles and future plans would really help with employee morale and reduce anxiety.

Great WFH for Product Managers in Fintech
Pros: For Product Manager roles, the work from home policy is truly excellent. You get a lot of autonomy with your schedule, which is pretty rare for a fintech startup. This flexibility really helps with personal appointments.
Cons: Even with WFH, sometimes communication lags, especially in our Manila office. Not everyone is great at responding quickly online. You can still feel pressure to be 'available' even when working remotely.
Advice to Management: Keep the flexible work policy, it's a huge draw. But maybe implement better guidelines for online responsiveness. Help teams improve virtual collaboration to avoid communication silos.
