The Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Trust’s Estates and Facilities functions to support the delivery of high quality healthcare and for the development of services in accordance with the Trust’s strategies and corporate objectives.

The post holder provides strategic direction and advice on the estate ensuring that the built environment is safe for patients, visitors and staff, is fit for the future, is managed effectively and efficiently and adapts to changing healthcare needs.

The Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities holds corporate and professional responsibility for estates and facilities service standards, governance, policies, financial management, statutory and regulatory compliance and risk management. The provision of assurance to the Trust Board and Trust Committees for the estate.



Experience:

Significant senior management experience in a large organisation in estates and facilities management
Must be experienced NHS Director.
Can demonstrate experience of managing major change and shaping the future and has strategic and budget setting.
Has experience of effective partnership working with other organisations at a senior level, preferably a mix of public, private and voluntary sector.
Experience of establishing effective financial control procedures.

The Director of Finance is responsible for providing financial leadership in the financial area of the Hotel by supplying management with guidance and training. He/she is also responsible for focusing on the profitability of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels on internal control, ensuring compliance with all, and local and International financial regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors assets.

Responsibilities:

• Support General Manager in day to day operation of hotel.
• Manage and communicate cash flow related issues which includes the accurate and timely preparation of cash flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds
• All laws and fiscal regulations of the country of location (which affect financial matters of the hotel) must be complied with.  This includes the responsibility for seeing that proper permits and licenses are obtained for such things as currency transfers.
• The safekeeping of all leases, contracts, and any other legal records and documents which may affect the financial status of the hotel
• Signs, signifying the inspection and approval of all daily reports of operations, Monthly Reports, Monthly trends of operations reports, Monthly source of business report and Monthly Auditor`s Check list reports
• Prepare, inspection and/or approval of all Daily Revenue Report, Monthly Financial Report, Monthly Operation Performance Report, Monthly Management Report and any other reports requested by management and owners.
• Monitor hotel revenues and expenses and ensure the accurate recording in accordance with International established guidelines
• Investigate and critique variances to budget or to prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to management
• Monitor the capital planning process by assisting management with the calculation of return on capital improvements, gathering support and monitoring the bid process, and ensuring proper upkeep of the property by evaluating scope of work and specifications
• Ensure hotels’ compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes

• Lead the nursing element on the introduction of nursing apprenticeships to the organisation at scale.
• Work with key corporate colleagues in EPRR to ensure the role out of fire training and simulated evacuation, distribution, and shift presence of fire wardens across the departments on all sites.
• To work with key EPRR colleagues to ensure COSHH compliance in all wards and departments.
• Support the organisation with risk and governance related aspects of nursing workforce, specifically supporting delivery of rostering improvement plans.
• Work with divisional colleagues to explore and support the potential roll out of the national uniform strategy.
• Lead the PPI team to continue to deliver a person-centred and enhanced patient experience offer.
• Together with the Deputy Chief Nurse support the development, implementation and monitoring of the Nursing Vision and assist in the delivery of ward accreditation across the Trust.
• Deliver projects as specified by the Chief Nursing Officer
• To provide visible, compassionate and values led senior leadership and support throughout the organisation including specific focus within the Nursing, AHP and Quality Directorate so that staff remain highly motivated, passionate, proud, resilient, and well equipped to provide excellent/outstanding care.

Key Requirements for the role: We are looking for a senior leader who can demonstrate delivering improvements in quality and safety within a healthcare setting. You will have: A strong understanding of change management approaches and quality improvement methodologies. Demonstrable experience of clinical transformation and service redesign. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and defuse conflict as required.
