The Role:
We are in search of a Senior Systems Engineer for our Leidos engineering capability. The successful Systems Engineer will have a full understanding of the principles of systems engineering, will have prior experience as a Systems Engineer on a major programme involving accepting and integrating deliveries from suppliers.
As a Systems Engineer in Leidos, you will be immersed in one of our key programmes – transformation of the UK’s biometrics platform to cloud. On behalf of our central government customer, you will have direct impact on the current and future iterations of one of our most important pieces of critical national infrastructure.

Infrastructure Engineer
Based primarily at our customer’s site near West London, you will be providing infrastructure and network changes as part of the programme’s SUB2 team, owning and leading on a variety of infrastructure change tasks.
The preferred candidate will have a range of knowledge and experience in the administration of a service based on Cisco and Microsoft products, and be an expert on Microsoft Windows Server (including services such as AD, DNS, DHCP & SCCM) and virtualisation (Hyper-V), while also having an understanding and interest in Linux (Ubuntu / CentOS) and a desire to learn (if required) additional complementary technologies such as Microsoft Stack Technologies (SharePoint, SQL Server, Skype for Business / Teams), networking technologies and storage.
The Infrastructure Engineer will work alone and / or as part of a team depending on the size and complexity of the change task to deliver Infrastructure changes in a demanding environment.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Have excellent knowledge of Virtualized Environments such as VMware and Hyper-V;
* Have excellent knowledge of Windows Server Environments, from Server 2003 – 2019, including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO from design to implementation and support;
* Have a strong working knowledge of Linux system administration skills (Ubuntu / CentOS);
* Have good general knowledge of TCP/IP and networking technologies including load balancing and firewalls;
* Have good general knowledge of Microsoft stack technologies such as SharePoint, Skype for Business / Teams, MS SQL, MS System Centre, Office365, MS Exchange & CLI tooling such as PowerShell;
* Have good general knowledge of SAN storage technologies;
* Have experience of working in security cleared environments/working in Defence;
* Have excellent analysis and problem solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer;
* Strong focus on delivering value to customers;
* Possess excellent communication skills, ideally able to communicate technical issues to less technical staff and managers;
* Have experience in providing support to others, including Service Desk Analysts and Second Line Engineers;
* Proactive working attitude;
* Have experience of producing and updating technical documentation to a high standard;
Occasional travel to other Leidos and customer sites may be required. Keeping an eye on the technology landscape is essential, too – identification of new and relevant technologies to solve problems and make improvements is part of the job. Experience of software maintenance and support to include servers, workstations, laptops, network and peripheral devices.
Experience in the installation and configuration of Microsoft Server 2008, 2016 and 2019.
Experience in the installation and configuration of Microsoft Windows 7 and 10 workstations.
Good knowledge of the configuration, maintenance and installation of Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software applications.
Extensive knowledge of Windows domain architectures, Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS.
Experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of Enterprise Anti-Virus products.
Experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
Experience of SQL Server.
Experience of network setup and configuration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewall skills).
Knowledge of backup technologies.
Experience of desktop rollout and configuration.
Experience of cloud-based deployment.
Experience configuring and maintaining monitoring tools and systems.
Defence experience.
ITIL Foundation Qualification.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Awareness of Agile methodologies.

We require a senior cyber security engineer for support to our customer projects within Civil & DG&E divisions in the UK. As a Systems Engineer in Leidos you will be working on one of our key programs delivering support on a complex and ever changing MOD system. You will be working on a system that is directly involved in ensuring the National Security of the UK.
Your primary responsibility will be to enact good systems engineering practices in a predominately Windows environment. Key subsystems include radio, video and network interfaces. SecDevOps Engineer
Leidos is seeking a Senior SecDevOps Engineer to provide demanding critical system development and support for national infrastructure for our customer. The system and role has a security focus and the candidate must have experience in working in secure environments.

This role will involve closely working various internal and external teams/suppliers in large scale integrations to maintain, develop and support pipelines in a SAFe Agile methodology based primarily on an Azure Cloud with aspects of hybrid cloud.

Codifying SecDevOps best practices for enterprise
Developing and maintaining scripts to automate tool deployment to an AWS cloud environment and other tasks
Scripting and maintaining build environments
Working with project teams to integrate their products into the SecDevOps environment
Basic Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in many of the following tools: Atlassian products, Jenkins Pipeline, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS/Azure AKS.
Demonstrated experience working within a software development team and supporting developers and developer activities
Demonstrated experience with scripting Languages including Python and Unix shell Scripting
Candidate must have at least 5+ years of prior relevant work in a senior position
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in science, technical, or engineering discipline.

The Role:
We currently have a permanent vacancy for an Infrastructure Engineer to support the transition, development & in-service running (inc. capability upgrades/tech refresh activities) of an IT enterprise solution providing support to a critical operational end user.
