We are the only hospital in the country to provide high secure care to patients who are women, who are deaf or who have Learning Disabilities, alongside our Mental Health and Personality Disorder treatment pathways.

Rampton Hospital has 24 wards offering comprehensive assessment and recovery focused individualised care and treatment packages for patients who experience a mental health disorder, personality disorder or learning disabilities combined with a history of offending behaviour.

To effectively plan and implement high quality Occupational Therapy input with Service Users on the acute adult mental health wards at Sherwood Oaks Hospital, Mansfield.

We are jointly commissioned by Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire NHS Trust and works specifically with children and young people who are in the care of a Local Authority and living with foster carers or in residential care.

We work with children who have experienced disrupted attachments and developmental trauma. The service supports children and young people directly, and their wider network to create goals and tailor interventions according to their needs using evidence-based practice. CAMHS recognise the importance of the contribution of Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Professionals working with this population.

Our multi-disciplinary team includes specialist social workers, a Consultant Psychiatrist, a Clinical Psychologist and an Art Psychotherapist. You will initially need to develop a highly specialist Occupational Therapy pathway, recognising how children’s sensory systems and motor skills are affected by trauma. You will provide specialist assessment or signposting to relevant services, alongside supporting the team around a child to help develop strategies to better negotiate life at home and school.

You will work closely with a range of other disciplines and agencies, including schools, social workers, Police and Hospitals. This will include helping children transition successfully to other services if they move out of Nottinghamshire or when they reach their 18th birthday.

Clinical Practice
• To take an active part in organising, planning and developing OT services within Nottinghamshire CAMHS and attend departmental meetings

The role is community based and working with clients either in their own homes, out in the community, at the community base or with GPs in the local area.


The role entails working within the multi disciplinary team to provide high quality care to people with or whom may attract a diagnosis of Personality Disorder and Complex Emotional Needs. The Therapy Services Department consists of Occupational Therapists, Specialist OT Assistant Practitioners, support staff, Education tutors, and Sports , Fitness and Well-being staff. We have recently employed a Peer Support Worker and have a part time Speech and Language Therapist.

Arnold Lodge offers trauma informed care and utilises a range of approaches and interventions within its treatment programmes.

We are looking to recruit 2 full time Band 6 Mental Health Practitioners working as part of the Personality Disorder Hub alongside our already growing team, working within the LMHT across Mid Notts. There will be an expectation that you will be able to work and travel across the whole of Mid Notts, however you will be based at a named LMHT for the majority of your time and required to have a visible presence . You will provide SCM to the LMHT caseload as well as undertaking short pieces of assessment and formulation work whilst providing training, consultation and supervision to LMHT colleagues. Whilst you will be embedded within the LMHTs , your line management and supervision will come from the PD Pathway Team Hub. There may be opportunities for other forms of treatment/therapy for clients with Personality Disorder depending upon funding.

Applications are invited for a Consultant Psychiatrist in CAMHS Inpatient General Adolescent Unit. This post is for the CAMHS Inpatient General adolescent ward at Hopewood. This is a full-time post in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. This post attracts a 30% RRP, based on the bottom of the National Consultant (2003) pay scale. This is subject to review.

The Consultant is employed by Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and will join the two other inpatient consultants, five community CAMHS consultants, six specialist CAMHS Consultants and two Academic Consultants in the CAMHS service.

This is a full time post based at Hopewood with responsibility for the 12 bed inpatient ward. The service has been established for the last three years and has a comprehensive treatment programme but there are opportunities for further development of the service. There are no outpatient responsibilities associated with the role.

The Consultant will work with the other inpatient consultants to ensure the delivery of a high-quality evidence based service to children and young people at Hopewood. Currently ward round takes place once a week on a Wednesday, ward rounds are co-ordinated between the wards to facilitate equitable provision of resources across the wards.

The Trust is committed to ensuring the use of The Care Programme Approach to ensure continuity of care and identification of needs for all children and young people in services as required by clinical need. The Consultant will not be expected to act as care co-ordinator

Do you have experience of being a carer for a loved one with complex emotional needs, often associated with a diagnosis of ‘personality disorder’?

If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for aCarer Peer Support Worker to work in ‘personality disorder’ services at Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will be able to share wisdom, from their own experiences, to inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others.

The role will involve working collaboratively with other professionals, to assist in improving the wellbeing of the families that use ‘personality disorder’ services. This will be achieved by supporting carers directly, by sharing experiences and engaging in practical activities to enable them to feel in control of their lives. The role will also involve providing support to carers' groups and developing and maintaining relationships with several Local Mental Health Teams throughout the Nottinghamshire area.

This job can be emotionally challenging at times, but the successful applicant will receive support, guidance and training from colleagues within the ‘personality disorder’ team and the wider organisation.

To establish supportive relationships with carers and people using mental health services based on the core principles of peer support (mutuality, reciprocity, strengths-focused, safe, progressive, non-directive, recovery-focused and inclusive)

To share personal experiences of caring, recovery and coping to build connection and inform support

To use active listening skills to help people develop self-understanding and identify their personal recovery goals

To support others in achieving goals that they have identified for themselves, including signposting to other organisations and opportunities

To role model recovery, personal responsibility and self-awareness

To raise awareness of recovery language among Trust staff by modelling positive, strengths based, non-discriminatory, non-jargon, non-medicalised language in all areas of work

To embrace every opportunity to work with people in a recovery focused way, supporting the community team by undertaking duties that would be a reasonable expectation of the role

The Personality Disorder Pathway Hub is a new and exciting team covering the whole of Nottingham City and County. We work alongside our Local Mental Health Team colleagues to provide support and structured Psychological Therapies to clients who have a diagnosis of or may suffer with challenges associated with Personality Disorder and complex emotional needs.

Our team will also support with clients on in-patient wards to think about how to engage them in treatment and support a safe and successful transition back into the community.

The role of Carer Peer Support worker has been developed specifically for people who have supported a friend or loved one who is experiencing mental distress. Carer Peer Support Workers use their experiences of caring to offer empathy, hope and understanding to others. In this role, the Carer Peer Support worker will offer peer support alongside practical assistance to enable people to feel in control of their lives and their own unique recovery process. Within a relationship of mutuality and shared experience, they will promote choice, self determination and opportunities for the fulfilment of socially valued roles and connection to local communities.

The Carer Peer Support Worker will act as a recovery champion within the team and an ambassador of recovery for the Trust with external agencies and partner organisations. Peer workers will also be expected to invest in their own personal and professional development as well as supporting ongoing development of peer roles in the Trust.
