As a Subject Manager Expert (SME) within the Transport Technical Support team (Transmission & IP) you will be responsible for technical managing and operating our customer's network, as well as their end users' services.
The role mainly involves daytime work, but after-hours work will be required for planned service impacting activities, as well as when attending meetings with offshore teams.

As part of our team, you will:
• Support and train Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams.
• Participate on on-boarding of new technologies/systems, focusing on their integration into existing networks.
• Provide technical consultancy to multiple customer's teams.
• Evaluate and/or write technical procedures.
• Manage SLAs.
• Liaise with technical specialists from different areas for cross domain issues.
• Use ITIL methodology covering Change, Incident, Problem and Knowledge.
• Project manage projects where your technical expertise is required.
• Strong social and communication skills.
• Able to represent the team on interdepartmental and customer facing meetings.
• Approachable with a "can do" attitude.
• Take ownership of actions assigned to you.
Follow all Nokia Information Security policies and guidelines including ISMS (ISO27001 program)
Your skills and experience
You have:
• Experience working on a fast-paced Operations environment, managing and troubleshooting large networks and multiple vendors.
• Experience with at least 2 of the following routers:
o Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, Huawei.
• Working knowledge of IP protocols, including OSPF, MPLS/LDP, VRF, BGP.
• Working knowledge of Carrier Ethernet (MPLS based) services: VLL, VPLS.
• Familiarity with testing processes: RFC2544 and/or Y.1564.
• Knowledge of BGP-LU and segmented routing (desirable).
• Experience with synchronisation protocols - G.8265/ G.8275 (desirable).
• IS-IS (Intermediate System to Intermediate System) protocol knowledge (desirable).
It would be nice if you also had:
• Optus internal systems experience
