Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in roadway design with at least 3+ years of progressive project management experience
• Texas Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed in Texas within 6 months)
• Strong technical skills in roadway and drainage design
• Experience with MicroStation and Geopak/Open Roads

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Marketing Coordinator for an opportunity in Austin, San Marcos, San Antonio, or Corpus Christi.  As Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for the development and production of proposals, statements of qualifications and shortlist presentations.  You will also coordinate and create supplementary materials, update information in our marketing database, and work with technical teams to position for upcoming pursuits and generally help us improve our processes.

• Serve as a proposal manager to effectively lead pursuit teams (marketing and technical), collaborating with sales and technical staff on key pursuits, Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), proposals and presentations
• Create compliant, compelling proposals based on the client requirements
• Work with leadership and technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to craft appropriate sales strategies and win themes. Make recommendations for subconsultants, projects, key differentiators.
• Lead kickoff meetings and subsequent status meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops Technical Memorandums related to I&C projects including, but not limited to

  • SCADA Master Planning

  • PLC and HMI Selections

  • Telemetry Studies

  • Preliminary Engineering/Design Reports

• Develop P&IDs, IO Lists, and requirements for industrial control panels

• Develops plans and specifications for I&C projects

• Develops testing requirements for hardware and software

• Develop simulations for PLC testing

• Ability to troubleshoot control system hardware and software problems

• Train clients on the use of hardware and software for their application

• Work with vendors, integrators, and internal I&C team to respond to and resolve SCADA system issues.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum Experience - Five (5) years in SCADA and/or I&C Design

• Minimum Education - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline

• Experience in all phases of SCADA system design, from pre-proposal involvement to the initial report, design, production, and construction.

• Experience managing SCADA implementation projects

• Experience interacting and working with a diverse set of clients and subcontractors

• Excellent technical writing skills

Freese and Nichols is currently searching for a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in Denver, CO. In this role, you will lead the analysis, design, construction administration, and preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications for various water treatment, wastewater treatment, reuse, and resource recovery facility, conveyance, utility, pump station, and/or master planning infrastructure projects.

• Prepare design calculations, design drawings, and specifications necessary for the most economical method of construction.  Seal drawings and reports as required.

• Perform independent studies and prepare reports of results and conclusions in a clear, concise manner.  Direct other engineers and technicians on assigned tasks and review and evaluate their results.  Present and deliver final reports to clients.

• Maintain and utilize working knowledge of accepted engineering design standards and practices in the execution of design work that will meet the client’s needs and conform to firm standards.

• Coordinate the work of drafting personnel; technicians, or other engineers on technical matters pertinent to project assignments.

• Work toward keeping current tasks within schedule and budget to fit the needs of the project.

• Provide input and coordination with other departments.

• Provide data, as required, for cost estimating, and secure preliminary equipment costs for reviews.

• Investigate new methods and implement new ideas and/or procedures that will benefit the firm and its clients.

• Serve as Project Manager for projects that primarily require work within own group but may also require coordination with other groups and the client.

Qualifications

• 4+ years including work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard engineering techniques.  MS degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.  Must be prepared to undertake independent action.

• Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related field

• Colorado PE licensure

The annual salary range for this position is $80,300 - $113,100 and is dependent on candidate's qualifications as compared to minimum and preferred requirements.  Exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay at a straight-time hourly rate for any hours over forty (40) hours per week.  Employees are eligible for annual bonuses and amounts are determined by company profitability and growth, and for employees at higher compensation grades, group and personal performance are also considered.

This position will help expand our growing Structural practice through client relationship building, technical execution of projects, and developing staff. Responsibilities include assisting and/or leading efforts in the analysis, design, construction administration, and preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications for various concurrent projects. Project types may include heavy civil projects such as dams, flood and retaining walls, water and wastewater treatment facilities, water transmission including aerial pipe crossings, routine and signature bridge designs as well as architectural projects such as low and mid-rise commercial, educational, and industrial buildings, and support of landscape architectural designs. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to work in a team as well as independently. Must have a proven ability to build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with clients, both internal and external.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering is preferred
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• 10+ years of structural design experience
• Familiar with ACI350
