Major Accountabilities:
• Observe and inspect ongoing construction work including material sampling and testing as well as
measuring quantities
• Review contractor’s work for compliance with contract document and clarify contract documents for the
contractor
• Lead the development and management of:
a. Change/Field orders
b. Updates to construction schedule
c. Submittals
d. Request for Information (RFI)
e. Claims
f. Pay requests
g. Construction meetings
h. Construction closeout process
• Manage construction project budget and contract construction project

• Communicate with contactor about non-conforming work
• Supervise/manage field staff and the execution of their daily work

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develops Technical Memorandums related to I&C projects including, but not limited to
SCADA Master Planning
PLC and HMI Selections
Telemetry Studies
Preliminary Engineering/Design Reports
Develop P&IDs, IO Lists, and requirements for industrial control panels
Develops plans and specifications for I&C projects
Develops testing requirements for hardware and software
Develop simulations for PLC testing
Ability to troubleshoot control system hardware and software problems
Train clients on the use of hardware and software for their application
Work with vendors, integrators, and internal I&C team to respond to and resolve SCADA system issues.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Experience - Five (5) years in SCADA and/or I&C Design
Minimum Education - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline
Experience in all phases of SCADA system design, from pre-proposal involvement to the initial report, design, production, and construction.
Experience managing SCADA implementation projects
Experience interacting and working with a diverse set of clients and subcontractors
Excellent technical writing skills

Certifications - Ability to be licensed as a PE
Proficiency in VTScada, AVEVA System Platform, Studio 5000, and Concept

Freese and Nichols is currently searching for a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in Denver, CO. In this role, you will lead the analysis, design, construction administration, and preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications for various water treatment, wastewater treatment, reuse, and resource recovery facility, conveyance, utility, pump station, and/or master planning infrastructure projects.
Prepare design calculations, design drawings, and specifications necessary for the most economical method of construction. Seal drawings and reports as required.
Perform independent studies and prepare reports of results and conclusions in a clear, concise manner. Direct other engineers and technicians on assigned tasks and review and evaluate their results. Present and deliver final reports to clients.
Maintain and utilize working knowledge of accepted engineering design standards and practices in the execution of design work that will meet the client’s needs and conform to firm standards.
Coordinate the work of drafting personnel; technicians, or other engineers on technical matters pertinent to project assignments.
Work toward keeping current tasks within schedule and budget to fit the needs of the project.
Provide input and coordination with other departments.
Provide data, as required, for cost estimating, and secure preliminary equipment costs for reviews.
Investigate new methods and implement new ideas and/or procedures that will benefit the firm and its clients.
Serve as Project Manager for projects that primarily require work within own group but may also require coordination with other groups and the client.
4+ years including work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard engineering techniques. MS degree may substitute for 2 years of experience. Must be prepared to undertake independent action.
Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related field

The annual salary range for this position is $80,300 - $113,100 and is dependent on candidate's qualifications as compared to minimum and preferred requirements. Exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay at a straight-time hourly rate for any hours over forty (40) hours per week. Employees are eligible for annual bonuses and amounts are determined by company profitability and growth, and for employees at higher compensation grades, group and personal performance are also considered.

This position will help expand our growing Structural practice through client relationship building, technical execution of projects, and developing staff.
