Deputy Director of Nursing Leadership and Quality; We are looking for an ambitious and inspirational leader to support the Director of Nursing, Leadership and Quality to lead the overarching quality framework within the East of England region, along with providing professional, clinicalandstrategic leadership within the following programmes:Palliative Care and End of Life, Continuing Health Care, Discharge and Experience of Care.

• Hold responsibility and accountability for surveillance of the standard of quality and safety within the East region, in line with the organisation’s operating frameworks.
• Work as part of the Quality team within the nursing directorate and wider regional team.
• Take oversight of improvement strategies across the East of England to ensure improvements in quality are actioned and effective.

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer will have an influential role within the portfolio of the ICB Chief Medical Officer. The Medical Director for Primary Care is a significant role in the NWL ICS clinical leadership structure. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the North East and Yorkshire Regional team within NHS England for a Chief Nurse. This is a key leadership role in the regional health system, with responsibility, in conjunction with other leaders from across the professional spectrum, for delivery of high-quality nursing and midwifery services for the region’s population, in line with NHS and other governmental priorities.

The Chief Nurse will provide expert professional nursing leadership and advise the Regional Director on quality and clinical assurance. Accountable for the delivery of high-quality services to patients and their families/ carers including the management of clinical governance, quality, CQC requirements, professional standards and risk within services. To work with the Chief Operating Officer to set the vision for operational services within NHFT. To ensure that co production is embedded in daily operational work and feeds into the MHLDA PEG. To lead the teams in working within the contractual I statements that have been developed through co production with people who use our services. To line manage the Directorate Management Team (DMT), ensuring efficient, effective management from DMT members, leading the culture of open, reflective and solution focused multi-disciplinary working. To lead the teams in the CQC processes working with corporate colleagues to ensure the services are prepared and confident in sharing their outstanding work and fostering a continuous learning and improvement culture. Maintain and enhance operational performance to deliver improved outcomes as per commissioner contractual standards and national/local priorities. Participate in risk management, including the relevant areas of the risk register and assurance framework. To lead the directorate in good use of finances and lead the directorate in meeting the challenges and opportunities of the Value Programme. System Leadership To lead within the MHLDA Collaborative and work with the leadership team to ensure that the programme works to its vision to coproduce seamless, responsive pathways of integrated mental health and care services across Northamptonshire, which feel meaningful, person centred, agile, integrated and intelligent. To ensure lived experience is a central voice to the collaboratives progression and outcomes. To work with partners across the system to reduce inequalities and improve health outcomes for people within the MHLDA population. To have oversight of the VCSE contracts within the MHLDA Contract ensuring partnership working and shared outcomes of high-quality, person-centred services that respond to need not degrees of illness. To lead on system wide transformations for MHLDA engaging wide groups of partners to work together to improve outcomes and embed transformed pathways that have a longer-term focus. To work with regional and national colleagues to champion and improve MHLDA policy and practice. To lead the Transforming Care Agenda for the system ensuring application of targets and goals to improve access, treatment and support for LDA community. Establishes effective relationships with commissioners, medical colleagues, and local GPs to ensure the delivery of the mental health strategy and to ensure partnership working in the development services. Resource Management Ensures effective utilisation of all resources within the mental health directorate to maximise the efficiency of bed capacity, estates utilisation and community service delivery. Accountable for the management of the mental health staffing budget. Leads the analysis of current mental health resource and talent levels to ensure current and future demands are met. Forecast future operational needs within mental health service provision and ensure plans are in place to meet this need.

Working together the two RRDN Health & Care Research Directors (one Medic and one Nurse, Midwife or Allied Health Professional, (NMAHP)) will be the senior officers responsible for working with health and care professional leaders to support the development of research delivery leadership and associated staff. They will play a key leadership role in the on-going engagement, development and oversight in their respective communities of practice. They will also coordinate the work of the regional RRDN Specialty and Settings Leads. The Medical Health & Care Research Director will coordinate the RRDN Specialty Leads and the NMAHP Health & Care Research Director will coordinate the RRDN Settings Leads. The purpose of the RDN is to support the effective and efficient initiation and delivery of funded research across the health and care system in England for the benefit of patients, the health and care system and the economy. The RRDN Health & Care Research Directors will support this purpose by developing and maintaining positive and constructive relationships with health and care leaders in the RRDN region to ensure capacity and capability of the professional research workforce and facilitate cross-specialty and cross-setting collaborations and research. In collaboration with the RRDN Strategic Development Director the RRDN Health & Care Research Directors will assist the development of the RRDN 3 year Strategic Plan. This plan will be in line with the national RDN strategic priorities and initiatives but translated into deliverable priorities for the RRDN region. Working with the clinical communities of practice, they will identify workforce development opportunities and thereby assist in increasing the research capacity and capability within the region and nationally, with particular emphasis on addressing the needs of the life sciences industry (across both commercial contract and commercial collaborative research). In collaboration with the RRDN Operations Directors they will coordinate the provision of expert proactive advice regarding study design to optimise deliverability and assist in the identification of sites and Principal Investigators, and provide reactive advice and support where study delivery or performance is an issue. The RRDN Health & Care Research Directors will work with the new NIHR Regional Research Leadership Offices (RRLOs) to develop complementary activities regarding strategic workforce development for the aligned aim of increasing research capacity and capability, the RRLO having a focus on the clinical academic community. Alongside their regional responsibilities the RRDN Health & Care Research Directors will co-develop and lead national programmes of work in collaboration with the RDN Coordinating Centre (RDNCC).
