Pros: If you're looking for stability, this is it. As a Manufacturing Technician, I felt pretty secure in my role within the diagnostics industry. There's always work, especially for production roles in the Sunnyvale, CA office.
Cons: It's a large corporate environment, so things can move slowly. Career growth can feel limited without a lot of initiative. The onsite work means less flexibility than I'd like, and sometimes you feel like a cog in the machine.
Advice to Management: Try to offer more clear paths for career advancement for hourly employees. Even small improvements in work-life balance for onsite teams would make a big difference.
