Pros: I've learned a ton about NoSQL databases and distributed systems as a Software Engineer. If you're proactive, there are chances to move up or switch teams. Good for building new technical skills.
Cons: Career paths aren't super clear, especially when you're remote from Austin. You really have to advocate for yourself and find opportunities. It's not a place where growth is just handed to you.
