Decent Flexibility for Onsite Hotel Roles
Pros: They'll try to work with you on shift swaps if you plan ahead, especially as a Front Desk Associate. There's often coverage if you absolutely need time off, which is a plus in the busy hospitality industry.
Cons: Work-life balance can be a real struggle with mandatory overtime and last-minute schedule changes. There's basically no remote flexibility, as expected for an onsite hotel operations role.
Advice to Management: Try to be more predictable with scheduling, especially for the Front Desk Associate team. It helps morale a lot if people can plan their lives.

Okay Pay, Good Hotel Discounts
Pros: The employee discounts on rooms are really good, definitely a perk for travel buffs. Health insurance benefits are pretty standard, not great but not terrible for a large corporate hotel. You do get paid every two weeks reliably, which is nice.
Cons: The base pay for a Front Desk Agent in Chicago is tough, it's just not enough to live comfortably here. Raises are small and don't keep up with inflation at all. It feels like they could do more for loyal, hardworking staff.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the entry-level salaries, especially for onsite staff in high cost-of-living areas like Chicago. Fair pay goes a long way for retention.

Decent for Hospitality, Flexibility is a Struggle
Pros: The team culture among the guest services team in Chicago is really good. You usually get solid benefits for a corporate hotel chain. They try to be understanding if you need a specific day off if you ask far enough in advance.
Cons: Work flexibility is pretty tough for us Front Desk Agent roles. It's constant shift work, so planning anything outside of work can be a nightmare. There are often last-minute schedule changes in hotel operations.
Advice to Management: Please look into providing more consistent schedules or at least better advance notice for shift changes for the onsite team. It would really help with work-life balance for everyone in guest services.
