Great for career growth, expect to work hard
Pros: The career trajectory as a Consultant here is super clear. You get tons of exposure to different industries and clients, which is great for building a diverse skillset. There's also lots of formal training and mentorship programs if you seek them out, helping you climb the ladder quickly in this corporate environment.
Cons: It's a demanding role in the management consulting industry, so work-life balance can definitely suffer. The pressure to constantly learn and perform at a high level means long hours are pretty common. Sometimes, you feel like you're always playing catch-up.
Advice to Management: While the opportunities for career growth are excellent, management should really focus on burnout prevention. Maybe more structured downtime or clearer expectations around project scope to help manage consultant workloads.

Hybrid work can be a mixed bag
Pros: The hybrid model does offer some WFH days, which is nice. If you're between client engagements, managing your schedule is easier. It's a decent setup for a big corporate firm in professional services.
Cons: Actual flexibility is tough in consulting roles. You're often tied to client site demands. My team in the New York City office often pushed for more in-office days than the stated policy, which made full use of work-from-home options difficult.
Advice to Management: Give managers clearer guidelines on promoting actual flexibility and work-life balance. Don't just talk about a hybrid model; empower teams to truly use it without pressure.

Hybrid model works, but client demands vary
Pros: They push a hybrid model for their corporate roles, which is decent. I could WFH about 2-3 days a week when not on client site. Some project managers were really good about respecting personal time.
Cons: Client work often means you're onsite more than you'd like, especially for a Junior Consultant. The flexibility really depends on your project and the specific partner. It's not a true work-from-anywhere vibe.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the flexibility policies more across projects. Empower engagement managers to truly support WFH options for their teams when client needs allow.
