Pros: I've learned a ton about the semiconductor industry and complex EDA tools as a Software Engineer here. Teams are full of really smart folks, and there's a solid hybrid work model which helps with my commute to the Mountain View, CA office.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit corporate and slow-moving. It's not always the most dynamic environment, and sometimes it's tough to get new ideas implemented quickly. There's a strong emphasis on process, which can bog things down.
Advice to Management: Try to empower teams more to make faster decisions and foster a culture of quicker innovation. Streamline some of the internal processes that slow down development for Software Engineer roles.

Pros: The benefits are pretty solid for a big tech company. I've also really enjoyed the hybrid work model; it helps balance things out a bit. As a Software Engineer, working on chip design software is genuinely interesting.
Cons: Work-life balance here is often tough, especially when project deadlines are looming. It's common to put in more than 40 hours, sometimes 50+ hours a week. The culture in the Mountain View office can definitely lean towards long hours.
Advice to Management: Managers need to really watch team workloads and actively encourage folks to take time off. Consistent 50+ hour weeks aren't sustainable for anyone. More resources during crunch times would help reduce burnout for engineering teams.

Pros: I've learned a ton about ASIC verification here. There are really smart people around, especially at the peer level. The benefits package is pretty solid for a big tech company.
Cons: Leadership often feels disconnected from the day-to-day for us in the Mountain View office. Decision-making can be slow, which is tough when you're working on tight project deadlines. There's not always a clear career path beyond senior individual contributor roles.
Advice to Management: Try to be more present and listen to the individual contributors, especially those of us doing complex ASIC verification. Make decisions faster to keep projects on track.
