Pros: Job security is pretty solid here, which is a big plus in the maritime industry. The team in the Jakarta office is usually supportive. You learn a lot about vessel operations.
Cons: Work-life balance as a Marine Engineer isn't great, honestly. Long hours are a regular thing, and you often work weekends for urgent oil and gas projects. Flexibility is basically non-existent with the onsite work.
Advice to Management: Managers need to really look at staffing levels to reduce the constant overtime. Better project planning would help improve employees' overall well-life balance.
