The Role
• Develop and manage compute, database, storage, and platform services within a leading cloud environment.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a high-performance virtualization platform built on custom hardware, firmware, and applications.
• Work on system BIOS, hypervisor interactions, and EC2 control-plane services for high-memory and high-performance computing workloads.
• Interface directly with system BIOS for bare-metal instances.
• Collaborate across domains including peripheral firmware and Linux kernel internals.
• Deliver new features and instance types for customers requiring specialized cloud solutions.
What You'll Need
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience with systems knowledge in areas such as Linux OS boot sequencing, Kernel, Hypervisor (Xen or KVM), or peripheral device development (PCIe or NVMe).
• Experience programming in C/C++ or Rust.
