Overview
A Japanese food company is seeking an Assistant Sales Manager to join its team in Singapore.
This position will be responsible not only for expanding sales within the Singapore market, but also for driving business growth and developing new sales channels across ASEAN countries. The successful candidate will contribute to increasing brand awareness and sales by building strong relationships with local distributors as well as retail and foodservice channels.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct sales and marketing activities in the Singapore market
- Drive new business development and market expansion across ASEAN countries
- Build and maintain relationships with existing agents, distributors, and wholesalers
- Manage sales activities for supermarkets, specialty stores, hotels, restaurants, and cafés (HORECA)
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and sales data analysis
- Plan and coordinate product launches, promotional activities, and trade exhibitions
- Liaise with and provide regular reports to the headquarters in Japan and other related departments
- Support sales forecasting and inventory management
Job Requirements
- Sales experience in the food industry and/or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry
- Experience in the ASEAN market and/or overseas sales experience is preferred
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (required for reporting to the headquarters in Japan and communicating with customers)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to proactively develop new business opportunities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
Benefits

- Monthly salary: SGD 4,000 – 5,500 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
