What The Role Is
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development (MND). As the national planning authority, URA is responsible for landuse planning, formulation of urban design guidelines and policies of the Central Area where our city centre is located. Through thoughtful urban planning and urban design, we aim to create a global city and endearing home.
What You Will Be Working On
As an architect in the Urban Design, Central Area Departments, you will play a role in transforming Singapore’s physical environment. You can expect to be involved in drawing up district masterplans and urban design plans which maps out the strategic directions in the transformation of the respective study areas. You will also coordinate, formulate implementation programmes, policies and guidelines as well as carry out assessment of development applications submitted by developers/property owners, to realise these plans. As an architect planner in the Central Area, you can also expect to engage development applicants and other stakeholders to facilitate good planning and urban design outcomes for the area.
What We Are Looking For
- Degree in architecture
- 3 to 5 years of working experience in architecture, planning and urban design
- Strong design and analytical skills with the aptitude for working on complex projects at the urban scale
- Competent in software such as Autocad, BIM, Photoshop, 3D modelling/analytical software, etc
- Knowledge or interest in the use of GIS, digital technologies and 3D systems in planning
- Excellent writing skills
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Quick learners with a high level of commitment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Good interpersonal skills
