About The Role

We have partnered with a Sydney-based logistics company that is consistent and committed in the warehousing and distribution industry. You will be part of a highly experienced, flexible and extensively trained team that delivers a personalised approach to transportation services anywhere in the world.

As a Transport Planner, you will manage day-to-day transport operations across multiple carriers. You will play a key role in ensuring timely deliveries, resolving transport issues, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will also be responsible for cost control, reporting, and ensuring data accuracy across transport systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with advanced Excel skills for data management and analysis.

What You'll Be Working On

Transport Coordination & Issue Resolution

  • Coordinate daily transport activities across multiple carriers to ensure smooth operations
  • Act as the main point of contact for resolving delivery issues, delays, and exceptions
  • Proactively follow up with carriers to ensure on-time deliveries

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, customers, and internal stakeholders
  • Provide timely updates on delivery status and manage expectations effectively

Invoice Review & Cost Control

  • Review and validate transport invoices, ensuring billing accuracy and cost efficiency
  • Identify discrepancies between quoted and actual charges and take corrective actions
  • Prepare and issue transport quotes to customers

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Run and analyse transport reports to monitor performance and delivery status
  • Track key KPIs such as on-time delivery, delivery exceptions, and ETA adherence
  • Highlight gaps between actual delivery timelines and contracted ETAs

What We're Looking For

  • At least 1 year work experience in transport, logistics, or 3PL operations.
  • Strong understanding of carrier management and delivery processes (reviewing freight invoices and identifying discrepancies).
  • Proficiency in transport systems Transportation Management System(TMS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) and reporting tools
  • Advanced Excel Skills is required for data analysis, reporting, and formula creation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and document handling.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
