The Role:
We’re seeking a Tax Preparer who will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This role will involve analyzing financial information, calculating taxes owed, and identifying opportunities for tax savings.
Location: Must be in Philippines – Remote.
Environment: Philippines and International Teams.
Timezone: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Mountain Standard Time (12:00 AM – 9:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays
Contract: Full Time
Requirements:
Education: Accounting degree and background with a good understanding of small business tax accounting principles and concepts
Experience: 5-10 years of experience in preparing 1120S, 1065, and 1040 tax returns in the US in written and spoken English
Skills:
- Thorough understanding of relevant US tax laws, regulations, and deadlines
- Proficiency in using common tax preparation, word processing, and spreadsheet software
- Excellent customer service skills, including patience and flexibility
- Strong organizational skills, including time management and strategic thinking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience in a multi-client environment
- Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
Responsibilities:
- Inform clients or employers about the tax preparation process
- Collect relevant financial records
- Input data from financial records into tax return software or databases
- Prepare US federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses (LLCs, Partnerships, and S Corporations)
- Complete and file tax documents with appropriate agencies, such as the IRS, state, and local government entities
- Act as a representative for clients with applicable agencies as required
- Build customer relationships to promote and expand the business
- Respond to client communications via email and phone within 24 business hours
