You are responsible to manage, implement and supervise repair and maintenance activities of refrigerated and ISO tanks containers, generator sets, dry van container, chassis, container handling equipment (CHE) and other related equipment. You are also to assume the responsibility to ensure CHE availability. You are also tasked to ensure technical reliability and efficiency of this mentioned equipment and maintain the highest standard in rendering quality service both for internal and external Customer.
What You’ll Do
Maintenance Operations Management
- Plan, manage, and supervise all repair and preventive maintenance activities for:
- Refrigerated containers (reefers)
- Isotank containers
- Generator sets (gensets)
- Dry van containers
- Chassis
- Container Handling Equipment (CHE)
- Other related technical and support equipment
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with manufacturer specifications, regulatory standards, and company policies.
- Establish and implement effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Monitor equipment condition, performance, and lifecycle to ensure operational readiness and reliability.
CHE Availability and Fleet Reliability
- Ensure maximum availability and operational readiness of CHE to support terminal, depot, and yard operations.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with operations teams to avoid disruptions and optimize equipment deployment.
- Analyze equipment utilization, failure trends, and downtime causes, and initiate corrective and improvement actions.
- Develop strategies to extend equipment service life and maximize return on assets.
Technical Oversight and Quality Assurance
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to technicians, engineers, and service providers.
- Ensure repairs and maintenance are performed to the highest quality standards, meeting safety and performance requirements.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and quality checks on completed work and outsourced repairs.
- Standardize maintenance procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
Safety, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security regulations.
- Ensure all equipment complies with applicable local and international regulations, including refrigeration, pressure vessel, and handling equipment standards.
- Identify technical and operational risks and implement mitigating controls and corrective measures.
- Lead incident investigations related to equipment failure or maintenance-related accidents.
Reporting, Analysis, and Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and submit regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, costs, and KPIs.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving reliability, efficiency, and service quality.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop technical teams, including maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians
- Ensure succession planning and skill development for technical staff
You’ll thrive in this role if you
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Logistics/Transportation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Professional engineering license or certification is an advantage, but not mandatory.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive professional experience in technical services, engineering, or equipment maintenance within a container depot, terminal, shipping line, logistics, or related industrial environment.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, with direct responsibility for planning, coordinating, and overseeing maintenance teams and technical operations.
- Proven experience in preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs, including scheduling, execution, and performance monitoring.
- Strong exposure to safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements, including maintenance standards, inspections, and audit processes.
