What You’ll Do..

Procurement Operations Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end Procurement Operations function covering Sourcing Execution and Procurement Fulfillment.
  • Translate procurement strategies into efficient operational execution across the organization.
  • Develop and execute the Procurement Operations strategy, annual operating plan, resource capacity plan, and service delivery roadmap.
  • Ensure Procurement Operations consistently delivers high-quality, timely, compliant, and customer-focused procurement services.
  • Continuously assess organizational capability, resource allocation, and workload distribution to ensure the function remains scalable and responsive.

Business Partnership & Operational Leadership

  • Serve as the primary Procurement Business Partner for assigned Business Units and Corporate Services Groups.
  • Build trusted relationships with Business Leaders to understand business priorities, operational challenges, and future procurement requirements.
  • Translate business needs into practical procurement operating solutions that improve efficiency, responsiveness, and stakeholder experience.
  • Represent Procurement Operations in executive meetings, governance forums, and strategic business discussions.
  • Lead the resolution of complex, cross-functional, and business-critical procurement issues requiring senior operational leadership.
  • Balance business responsiveness with procurement governance, commercial discipline, and operational excellence.

Operational Sourcing & Fulfillment Leadership

  • Oversee operational sourcing activities including RFx execution, supplier negotiations, supplier onboarding, contract implementation, and supplier operational readiness.
  • Oversee Procurement Fulfillment activities from approved Purchase Requisition through Purchase Order issuance, supplier coordination, and transaction completion.
  • Ensure seamless transition between Sourcing Execution and Fulfillment to eliminate delays and improve execution quality.
  • Personally handle urgent, business-critical, or complex procurement requirements requiring senior operational intervention.
  • Ensure approved commercial arrangements are successfully implemented and operationalized across the organization.

Service Delivery & Performance Management

  • Establish, monitor, and continuously improve Procurement Operations KPIs, service levels, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Drive improvements in turnaround time, procurement responsiveness, customer satisfaction, and execution quality.
  • Monitor operational workload, resource utilization, backlog, and capacity to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Implement corrective actions to address operational issues and sustain high performance.

Operational Excellence & Transformation

  • Champion Operational Excellence by simplifying procurement processes, eliminating bottlenecks, reducing manual activities, and improving end-to-end procurement performance.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable operating models that improve procurement responsiveness, compliance, quality, and customer experience.
  • Identify systemic operational issues and implement sustainable long-term solutions rather than temporary workarounds.
  • Sponsor automation, digitalization, and workflow optimization initiatives in partnership with Procurement Systems & Continuous Improvement.
  • Benchmark Procurement Operations against industry best practices and implement initiatives that improve organizational maturity.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong collaborative relationships with Business Units, suppliers, Corporate Service group and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective implementation of supplier contracts, commercial terms, rate cards, framework agreements, preferred supplier programs, and procurement catalogues.
  • Resolve operational supplier issues while escalating strategic commercial matters to Strategic Procurement where appropriate.
  • Drive supplier implementation and operational readiness to support uninterrupted business operations.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure Procurement Operations complies with Procurement Policies, Delegation of Authority, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Monitor operational compliance, transaction quality, sourcing governance, and documentation standards.
  • Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings and corrective actions.

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Procurement Operations Managers, Supervisors, and team members.
  • Build a high-performing, customer-focused, and continuously improving Procurement Operations organization.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, KPIs, development plans, and succession planning for the team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.

  • Monitor and report Procurement Operations performance including:

  • Provide operational insights and strategic recommendations to the Head of Procurement to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
You’ll thrive in this role if you..

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • MBA or postgraduate studies are an advantage.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of progressive procurement and supply chain experience covering operational sourcing, procurement operations, supplier management, contract administration, and Procure-to-Pay execution.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing multiple procurement teams or functions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading centralized procurement operations, shared services, or procurement transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience partnering with Business Unit Heads and Corporate Services leaders to deliver procurement solutions that support business objectives.
  • Strong experience managing complex procurement initiatives with significant operational and commercial impact.
  • Experience implementing procurement process improvements, automation, digital procurement solutions, and ERP or Procure-to-Pay platforms (SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa, or equivalent).
