Your Role
As a
Power BI Developer, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI.
- Gather and analyze business requirements to translate data into meaningful insights and reporting solutions.
- Develop and optimize data models, datasets, and reporting frameworks to support business decision-making.
- Create and maintain DAX calculations, measures, KPIs, and Power Query transformations.
- Connect, integrate, and manage data from multiple sources including databases, cloud platforms, APIs, and enterprise applications.
- Monitor report performance and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, business users, analysts, and technical teams to understand reporting needs.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance across reporting solutions.
- Troubleshoot reporting issues and provide ongoing support and enhancements.
- Document reporting processes, data definitions, and technical specifications.
What You Need
Non-negotiables
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query.
- Advanced knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and data modeling concepts.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting solutions.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data transformation, and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills/expertise
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Data Lake.
- Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and other Microsoft BI technologies.
- Experience working with large datasets and enterprise-scale reporting environments.
- Familiarity with Python, R, or other data analytics tools.
- Experience with data governance, security models, and row-level security (RLS) in Power BI.
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and modern analytics architectures.
- Experience building executive dashboards and KPI reporting solutions.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project delivery frameworks.
