Decent Place, Culture Has Its Moments

I worked here as a Systems Administrator for a couple of years. It's a decent spot overall, especially if you like tackling tough IT infrastructure projects. The hybrid model for work flexibility is definitely a plus. But the company culture can be a real mixed bag, honestly.

Pros

The teams in IT are generally really supportive. We get to work on some interesting IT infrastructure problems. Plus, the hybrid model means I don't have to be in the office every day, which is great for work-life balance.

Cons

The overall company culture feels pretty siloed, department to department. It can feel cliquey, and sometimes communication is a challenge. For a mid-sized tech firm, it occasionally feels a bit unorganized, like a startup.

Advice to Management

Try to foster more cross-functional team-building events. Encourage projects that break down the departmental silos to improve overall company culture.

Decent place for a start, but growth is slow
Pros: You'll learn a ton about IT infrastructure if you're just starting out. As a Junior Systems Administrator, I picked up many foundational skills. The team in the Denver office was really supportive for new hires too.
Cons: Career growth here is pretty stagnant after the entry level. There isn't a clear path for moving up in this mid-sized tech company. Felt stuck without opportunities for more advanced software development or cloud solutions training.
Advice to Management: Create clearer promotion tracks and invest more in training for advanced roles, especially in newer tech like cloud solutions. It'll help retain talent.

Decent place, but job security is a concern
Pros: The work itself for us Software Engineers was pretty engaging. I really liked the team culture in the Austin, TX office. They have a solid health insurance plan too, which is a plus.
Cons: Job security became a real worry, especially after the recent layoffs across the IT services industry. Saw a lot of good people leave, and it makes you nervous. Projects often get cancelled suddenly, which doesn't help.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to be more transparent about the company's financial health and future plans. It would help a lot with employee morale and retention, especially when it comes to job security in this competitive IT services market.

Decent Benefits, Pay Lags Behind Market
Pros: The health insurance plans are pretty good here. I also liked the 401k match, it's a solid benefit in the IT services industry. For an onsite role in Dallas, the benefits package is definitely competitive.
Cons: Starting pay for a Junior Systems Administrator felt a bit low compared to market. Raises aren't very big, so your salary doesn't keep up over time. It's tough to negotiate better compensation.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing salary bands, especially for entry to mid-level IT roles. Competitive pay is crucial for retaining talent in this market.
