The Technical Engagement Manager plays a critical role in both presales and in implementation setting customers up for Success by prescriptively shaping, scoping and solutioning Slack implementations and then leading the technical execution of large and transformational engagements at our most strategic customers, or at times, jumping in to support implementation teams on targeted technical challenges. Partnered with an Account Partner (Services Salesperson), the Technical Engagement Manager leads both pre and post-sales activities, acting as the technical expert across the portfolio of products and engaging other SMEs across the organization to develop and articulate comprehensive implementation proposals; this can include developing technical solutions to customer missions/objectives, sizing the effort/team size/team makeup/duration, identifying critical technical challenges: integrations, usability, security, data migration and third party solutions. The Director of Industry Engagement and Technology Transition is responsible for leading the Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships Office within the Office of Innovation and Collaboration as follows:

• Sets the strategic vision and goals for engaging with industry to close capability gaps critical to the Homeland Security Enterprise.

This position is located in the Human Resource Management Division, Personnel Director's Branch, Staffing and Employee Relations Section (SERS), Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Washington, D.C.

Responsible for planning, developing, and administering staffing programs for the BOP.

Provides guidance to HR Specialists in field institutions, Central Office, regional offices and other key management officials.

Adjudicates staffing issues that are precedent setting, involve national policy, or are of a key nature organizationally.

Reviews tentative OPM qualification standards, anticipating their effect on prison positions and provides comments on related OPM and DOJ proposed issuances which have national impact.

The Technology Innovation and Field Services Division provides technical support to a wide variety of customers, both internal and external to the agency. Technical support includes direct field assistance in responding to incidents and spills, developing or providing analytical services in the field and via laboratories, and training and supporting innovative field investigation and remediation technologies. The Division is responsible to provide technical direction as the first responder for environmental disasters which include hazardous waste or oil spills and counter terrorism preparation; analytical laboratory support through the management of the Contract Laboratory Program (CLP) or other non-CLP contracts; hazardous waste characterization, exposure assessment, outdoor and indoor air monitoring, and information management. The Division will have the responsibility for the development of response guidance and regulations as well as providing support for on-site response actions. The Division provides outreach training directed to assist regional and state project managers to integrate new technologies and tools into Superfund and other cleanup programs. The Director serves as an expert for information on remediation technologies; evaluate field readiness of potential remedies and identify important cost and performance issues.

This position serves as the principal advisor to the Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation (OSRTI) Director for certain major program areas assigned to the Division. Specific responsibilities of the position may include, but are not limited to:

- Developing and implementing policy, technical, and management initiatives and programs to enhance and promote the use of innovative technologies by OSRTI.

- Supporting the growth and development of private sector technology companies and application of their technologies by creating programs, developing and disseminating information, and creating networks to support such maturation of those technologies.

Serves at the Deputy Assistant Director for the Reentry Services Division (RSD) in the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), an organization charged with the care, custody, and corrections of offenders and staffed by professional, technical, administrative, supervisory, and managerial employees housed in Federal correctional facilities.

Provides direction for the BOP's National Reentry Affairs efforts, including strategy development, staffing and resource recommendations, and oversight of outreach efforts at the national level which includes collaboration with other Department of Justice (DOJ) entities, U.S. Probation and the Federal Courts, as well as numerous other federal, state, and local agencies.

• Ensure a CSD subdivision's alignment to CISA and CSD technology governance processes.
• Lead a CSD subdivision's operational requirements, recommendations, and assessments of mission tools.
• Recommend acquisitions of mission technology enhancing current and future operational readiness.
• Lead the prioritization and development of research proposals and Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC)/University-Affiliated Research Center Laboratories work.
• Serve as a thought leader and technical advisor to senior CSD, CISA, DHS Science and Technology, Intelligence Community and international officials, stakeholders and partners engaged in research and development in technology fields relevant to cybersecurity.
• Recommend technical training and development requirements and activities to enhance the CSD workforce.
• Guide a subdivision's alignment with higher-level technical strategy, operational tactics, and engineering governance frameworks.
• Maintain awareness of the technical performance of the cybersecurity tools and systems necessary for CSD mission success.
• Ensure technology products and services integrate with other CISA systems.
• Oversee data stewardship of subdivision data sets ensuring data availability and integration with other subdivision data sets.
