Responsibilities:
Read and understand job orders; Explain the layout, ensure the correct paper/plastic is issued and determine the ink to be used.
Responsible for printing preparation and setup; Determine the best color order.
Implement and monitor color consistency.
Complete necessary paperwork and records, including recording operations and inventory on the computer.
Check the ink density, stock location, and registration of printed products and make adjustments throughout the production process to maintain guidelines, registration, and color density.
Check the sheet for visual defects.
Install plates, blankets and balance colors.
Operate the printing press according to the standard operating procedures required by the printing press to maintain the overall production and work quality.
Use hand tools to troubleshoot and make minor adjustments and repairs, including removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers.
Prepare materials for upcoming work by reviewing production plans and consulting with operators.
Filling the ink fountain of the printing press; Mix the ink to keep the ink at an acceptable level.
Complete material use reports and base material use logs and other necessary paperwork.
Operate the material handling equipment to move the load to the staging area for finishing.
Wash and keep work area clean
