Role: Agile Release Train (ART) Release Train Engineer - SCRUM (Day Rate Contract for a multi-year project)
Our Client is a leading Global MNC.
Purpose:
The ART Release Train Engineer (RTE) facilitates and drives the successful execution of the Agile Release Train (ART). Collaborating with teams, the RTE ensures alignment with Agile principles, coordinates the various teams within the ART, and manages and optimizes the flow of value through the ART using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). This role is crucial in facilitating program-level processes and execution, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring that the ART delivers on its commitments.
Responsibilities:
Agile Release Train Leadership:
- Facilitate ART events and processes, including PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt (I&A) workshops.
- Assist the teams in delivering value by ensuring clear communication, removing impediments, and managing risks.
- Partner with Product Management, System Architects, and other stakeholders to ensure the alignment of strategy and execution.
Program Execution:
- Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART.
- Coordinate and synchronize the ART's features, capabilities, and dependencies with other ARTs.
- Track and report on ART key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, ensuring visibility and transparency.
Facilitation and Coaching:
- Foster collaboration among teams, stakeholders, and the broader organization to ensure effective delivery of business value.
- Serve as an Agile coach to ART members, promoting Agile best practices and ensuring adherence to SAFe principles.
- Provide leadership and guidance in continuous improvement efforts within the ART.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify and manage risks and dependencies within the ART, developing and implementing mitigation plans as necessary.
- Proactively address and resolve impediments, ensuring that they do not impede the progress of the ART.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and ensure a healthy, productive work environment for the teams.
Continuous Improvement:
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of relentless improvement.
- Implement and drive the adoption of Agile best practices, encouraging teams to continuously evolve and improve.
- Coordinate with other RTEs, Agile Coaches, and leadership to share best practices and drive overall Agile maturity within the organization.
Technical Leadership:
- Work closely with System Architects and development teams to ensure architectural alignment and integration.
- Provide guidance on system design and integration, ensuring consistency and compliance with organizational standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and Agile methodologies to enhance ART practices.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Release Train Engineer or in a similar role within an Agile environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) and practical experience implementing them in large-scale organizations.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and other Agile project management tools.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and SAP platforms is a plus.
- Experience in coordinating across multiple teams and managing dependencies.
