Why Is This a Great Opportunity
Hybrid Skill Development: Unlike narrow roles, this position blends Network Engineering (Firewalls, L2/L3 Switches) with Systems Administration (VMware, AD), making you a highly versatile "T-shaped" engineer.
Infrastructure Ownership: You aren't just "resetting passwords." Managing Network Infrastructure and Security Policies (NAT/VPN/Traffic Inspection) gives you high-level responsibility over the company's digital backbone.
Cybersecurity & Compliance Exposure: Assisting with audits and implementing cybersecurity controls is a massive resume builder, as these are currently the highest-paying skills in the IT market.
Physical-to-Digital Integration: Handling Physical Security (CCTV/Access Control) alongside Server Backups (VMware/Deduplication) gives you a rare 360-degree view of organizational security that most IT roles lack.
Manufacturing Sector Stability: Roles in production environments are typically more stable and offer complex, real-world troubleshooting scenarios that improve your ability to work under pressure and minimize downtime.
