Job Description
Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring product quality across manufacturing operations, focusing on stainless steel weldments, plastic fabrication & assembly, and machining processes.
This role drives in-process quality control, defect prevention, root cause problem solving, and production quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure in-process and final product quality meets drawing, specification, and customer requirements
- Conduct product inspections and support shopfloor quality activities
- Identify, contain, and resolve production quality issues
- Lead root cause analysis for defects and production failures (e.g., 8D, 5 Why)
- Drive corrective and preventive actions to prevent repeat issues
- Reduce scrap, rework, and internal rejection through continuous improvement
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve process stability
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and process change validation from quality perspective
- Ensure quality readiness before mass production release
- Support incoming material issues that impact production output
- Coordinate with suppliers on production-related quality problems
- Monitor production quality performance and trends
- Report key quality issues, defects, and improvement progress to management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field
- Experience in manufacturing quality environment (welding, machining, or fabrication preferred)
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Hands-on experience working with production/shopfloor teams
- Familiar with basic quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and root cause analysis
- Strong communication and coordination skills across functions
