Overview: UMW Aerospace Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of UMW Holdings Group is the Malaysia’s first homegrown Tier-1 aero engine component supplier to Rolls-Royce in the Asia-Pacific region. UMW Aerospace specializes in the manufacture of Fan Case Assembly Kits for the Rolls-Royce Trent Engines.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming: Develop, debug, and optimize CMM inspection programs for complex aerospace parts.
- Operation: Perform CMM inspection (including Zeiss/Calypso software) for in-process and final inspection.
- Technical Knowledge: Interpret complex blueprint drawings, understand GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Documentation: Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI), generate inspection reports, and handle non-conformance reports (NCR) using systems like SAP.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform calibration and basic troubleshooting of CMM hardware and software.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in CMM programming, preferably in aerospace or precision machining.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and CMM software (e.g., Calypso).
- Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
