Hybrid Model is a huge plus for tech roles

Working at Jobstore was pretty good, especially the flexibility. The hybrid model really helps manage things outside of work for us tech folks.

Pros

The **hybrid model** for us **Software Engineers** is a lifesaver. You get to WFH a few days, which makes a big difference. It's great for managing personal appointments without using PTO.

Cons

Sometimes the **Kuala Lumpur office** can feel a bit empty when most are WFH. Collaboration on complex **HR tech** projects gets tricky when everyone isn't in person. It relies heavily on good asynchronous communication.

Advice to Management

Keep supporting the hybrid model, maybe refine tools for better remote collaboration on the more intricate **online job portal** features. Stronger emphasis on team-based hybrid schedules could help.

Decent Work-Life Balance for a Tech Startup
Pros: The hybrid work model is a huge plus, giving me some flexibility. As a Marketing Specialist, I can usually hit my targets without crazy overtime if I manage my time well. It's not a 9-to-5 strict schedule, which is nice.
Cons: Sometimes projects in the online recruitment industry can have tight deadlines, so I've definitely had weeks where I'm putting in more than 45 hours. Vacation time can be tough to get approved during peak hiring seasons. The Kuala Lumpur office can get really busy.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project timelines to reduce crunch periods and ensure vacation time is easier to approve for all staff, especially in the online recruitment space.

Okay for a Start, Limited Growth
Pros: You get hands-on experience quickly, which is great for learning the ropes as a Recruitment Coordinator. It's a solid entry into the online job portal industry, and you pick up practical skills fast.
Cons: Formal career growth paths are pretty much non-existent for roles like mine. There isn't much room to move up quickly in this startup environment, so you might feel stuck after a year or two without clear next steps.
Advice to Management: Try to create more structured career development plans. It would help retain talent if people knew what their next step could be, especially for those in entry-level Recruitment Coordinator positions.

Decent Tech Startup, Job Security is Tricky
Pros: Working as a Software Engineer, I've learned a lot in this HR Tech startup. The dev team is collaborative, and we work on cool features for the job portal. The Kuala Lumpur office is pretty nice.
Cons: Honestly, job security here isn't great. There's always whispers about budget cuts, especially for the remote engineering team. The lack of clear communication from leadership makes things feel unstable.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to improve communication about the company's financial health and future plans. It would help the Software Engineers feel more secure and less anxious about potential layoffs.
