As the Head of Shops, your primary mission is to accelerate the growth and scale of foodpanda Malaysia’s Marketplace vertical. You are the business owner of our partner ecosystem, responsible for driving GMV, increasing order penetration, and ensuring foodpanda is the preferred digital destination for Malaysia’s top retailers. While driving the topline, you also hold full P&L ownership, balancing rapid expansion with sustainable commercial health and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Growth & Market Expansion
- Drive Topline Performance: Take full accountability for scaling GMV and order volume; identify and unlock new growth levers across diverse retail categories.
- Lead the expansion into new cities and high-potential segments to increase foodpanda's marketplace footprint nationwide.
2. Strategic Partnerships & Acquisition
- Lead high-level negotiations with national retail groups to secure market-leading partnerships and portfolio density.
- Build long-term Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with major external stakeholders that align partner success with our commercial goals.
3. P&L & Sustainable Revenue
- Financial Accountability: Manage the vertical’s full P&L, optimizing commission structures and costs to deliver on profitability targets.
- Grow other revenue streams by providing partners with high-impact advertising and digital visibility opportunities.
4. Operational Excellence & Feature Adoption
- Virtual Storefront Quality: Own Catalog Integrity, ensuring partners maintain high-standard content, accurate imagery, and real-time inventory updates.
- Operational Efficiency: Drive the adoption of platform features (e.g., Item Replacement) to improve picking accuracy, reduce cancellations, and ensure a seamless customer journey.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Logistics, Marketing, or Product teams to ensure delivery speed and a best-in-class experience for both vendors and customers.
- Translate complex partner feedback into actionable product enhancements that reduce friction for external retailers.
6. Team Leadership
Performance Culture: Lead and mentor a team of Strategic Account Managers, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and relentless execution.
